Bagels

I’ve been looking for some sort of whole grain flour based bagels for a long time and I couldn’t find it in any groceries shop. I find gluten-free bagels everywhere, but what’s the point on buying a product made out of even more refined flours than regular bread flour? Of course it is important to have these alternatives avaiable. I’m sure people who suffer from celiac disease or gluten intolerance are very thankful for that, but the truth is that, normally, the final product is still quite unhealthy. Very rarely you’ll find a gluten-free product that is not made out if highly processed flours.
Well, here, at the house, we have no gluten issues and so, gluten-free bagels will have to wait. Specially because I don’t have much experience with gluten-free breads and whole wheat recipes are already complicated enough.

Apple Brownie

Dude, call whatever the heck you want to your food, clothes, music, who cares? I’ll call this cake an apple brownie, just because the texture reminds me of a brownie. This is my blog, I call it whatever the fuck I want. There is nothing wrong with it.

And don’t get me wrong with the text above, there is nothing less honorable on selling food or something else on a trail or RV. But don’t try to sell people the ultimate organic chickpea vegan burger with homemade sourdough bread, freshly squeezed OJ and sweet potato fries for 10€ when it doesn’t worth 5€!!!

Baked Quinces

In Ancient Greece, the fruit was used to treat several stomach and skin infections. It was also one of the most popular offers to the gods, due to it’s peculiar parfume. Actually I think people would just taste that sh*t raw and then offer it to the gods – “Hmmm, such a good looking quince! It smells so good! Holy f*ckaroni, this tastes like sh*t! It feels like I just licked a board full of splinters and then cleaned my thong with a burlap bag! I think Demeter is having an offer tonight…”

Spicy Roasted Chickpeas

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you the legume. Legumes are plants or fruits/seeds in the family fabaceae. Well-known members of this family are beans, peas, chickpeas, lentils, soybeans and peanuts (yes, peanuts are legumes, not nuts).
After meat, poultry and fish, legumes provide more protein per serving than other types of food. Besides, it is a very good source of dietary fiber and minerals and, like most plant-based foods, no cholesterol. Every cup of chickpeas, for example, contains 15 gr. of protein (29% DV), 4.7 mg of iron (26% DV), 80.4 mg of calcium (8% DV), 78.7 mg of magnesium (20% DV), 2.5 mg of zinc (17% DV), 12.5 g of fiber (50% DV) and the list goes on.

What should you eat before training?
The logic answer should be – food. Yes, food. If you have bananas at home, why should you be eating that store bought energy bar? It is most likely loaded with highly processed products. It is true that energy bars and cookies, such asThe Complete Cookie are very tasty and can be very handy. I also like the flavor, but that’s not the point. It is just much healthier to eat bananas and peanut butter, for example. In very rare cases, eating processed food will be healthier than eating whole food.

Grandma’s Biscuits

Do you know that momment, when you’re grandma tastes your own interpretation of her cookies, with a totally different selection of ingredients, and, looking at you, she just says “it is very good” ? Of course you don’t. Last time you cooked something was frozen pizza at 05h30 and the one who tasted it was your flatmate who was even drunker than you. But I know, because it happened to me last year.
