Grandma’s Biscuits

Do you know that momment, when you’re grandma tastes your own interpretation of her cookies, with a totally different selection of ingredients, and, looking at you, she just says “it is very good” ? Of course you don’t. Last time you cooked something was frozen pizza at 05h30 and the one who tasted it was your flatmate who was even drunker than you. But I know, because it happened to me last year.

Christmas Chickpea Cookies

I’ve always been a huge Christmas entusiast. I don’t know when it started and I can’t even remember caring that much about the presents I would get when I was a kid. Unfortunately ocasions like that are not as common as I would like it to be. Specially nowadays that I live far from home.

In other words, when you bite one of these persimmon before fully ripened, it will feel like you licked your dog’s feet and then brushed your teeth with vine leaves. Hmmm… This may not be that easy to visualize. Let’s move on.

Some sort of Milk Bread

First time I had a hot dog served in a hot dog bun was when I joined 5th grade. There, in my school, they used to serve timg00006142he hot dog with that american style bun that looks like milk bread. I clearly remember the first time I tried it – it was disgusting. Sweet bread with a sausage, ketchup and mostard? WTF??? The few times I had a hot dog before that it was on a baguete or in a papo-seco (a typical portuguese bun).

Nutella – Choco Hazelnut Spread

This recipe doesn’t taste like nutella. Even I can guarantee you that. It’s not as creamy or sweet. But it is quite tasty and MUCH healthier. Still not something I would recommend eating with a spoon, specially if you’re looking for losing some weight. But, compared with the original product, it is super healthy indeed. If you enjoy the taste of pure roasted hazelnuts, you will love this. Besides, homemade is always better right?
